The Reincarnated Assassin Is a Genius Swordsman
Chapter 1280
Chapter 1280
"Hmm."
It was when Raon was about to narrow his eyes to check the newly appeared reward message.
-I'm really going crazy!
Wrath was even more irritated than when he encountered Pride, spewing white steam from his head.
-Why do you give rewards every time I speak!
The guy slammed his fist down, saying the system must be watching this place and mocking him.
-This damn system!
Wrath gnashed his white teeth while looking up at the void.
-If you're watching me, come out right now! If you beg for forgiveness now, I'm even prepared to overlook it!
Contrary to his words about giving a chance, the guy trembled his fists as if he would beat the system to death the moment it appeared.
-Come out!
Wrath finally couldn't hold it in and exploded.
He wildly swung his fists at the void. Perhaps because of the absolute fist the Heavenly Demon had shown just moments ago, the Demon King's punches looked too empty and weak.
'Stop it already.'
Raon sighed and grabbed the struggling Wrath.
-You just keep eating everything, so it must be nice for you! I'm dying here!
Wrath lowered his plumply fattened hand and swallowed dry saliva.
-There's not much left of my main body now!
The guy wrinkled his brow, saying that from giving him various rewards, only bones would be left of his main body.
'You won't need to worry about that.'
Raon calmly shook his head while looking at the excited Wrath.
-It's not your concern...
'It'll be fine.'
Raon patted the angry Wrath's head while murmuring that he could rest assured.
'Really.'
When the Continental war ends with the Five Kings' victory and peace comes, he would repay everything he had received from Wrath, with interest.
After everything was stabilized, he wanted to return all the other Demon Kings' Authority and challenge the Continent's peak with only his sword.
-Mmm...
Wrath seemed flustered by his suddenly serious gaze and narrowed his nose bridge.
-Hmph! I don't know what you're thinking, but the magnanimous me will be a little patient!
The guy didn't understand well, but sighed as if he would trust him.
'Is that so.'
Raon chuckled and removed his hand from Wrath's head.
"Haah!"
Burren let out a sigh deep enough to cave in the ground and stood up.
"I really thought I was going to die..."
He trembled the hand he had placed on the ground, as if it was shocking to have seen the Heavenly Demon's martial arts up close.
"That guy is insane."
Martha let out a hollow laugh and clenched her fist.
"A crazy martial artist! How can he swing such a fist?"
She seemed to have fallen for the Heavenly Demon's martial arts, chewing her lips with a reddened face.
'......'
Raon looked over Burren and Martha in turn and narrowed his eyes thinly.
'The wall is shaking.'
The massive wall blocking Burren and Martha's path. He could feel the realm called Transcendence shaking greatly. The wind brought by the Heavenly Demon's punches seemed to have thinly sharpened both people's walls.
'Besides...'
Burren might gain something even more.
A faint cluster of light took on an elongated form inside Burren's chest. That meant his Mental Image and soul had approached right before forming a Sword Domain.
'I'm curious.'
What form will that guy's Sword Domain take.
He found himself smiling unconsciously, curious about what it would look like if Burren opened the Authority of Pride, ascended to Transcendence, and opened his Sword Domain.
"Phew."
Unlike Burren and Martha, Runaan only let out a short breath and brushed off the dirt and dust on Snow Flower.
'Runaan must have felt the impact too.'
Raon nodded while meeting Runaan's gaze.
'She'll become even stronger from now on.'
Since Runaan had already ascended to Transcendence, cracks didn't form in her realm's wall like Burren or Martha. However, the size of her enlightenment seemed even greater, as a subtle light and Frost were blooming from the tip of the sword she held.
"Even The Fallen had no choice but to bow before the Heavenly Demon..."
Evelyn curled up her lips and approached Raon's side.
"Raon didn't back down even before the arrogant Heavenly Demon! As expected of our Raon! You were so cool!"
She touched her reddened cheeks as if she had been watching only Raon the whole time and subtly pressed her shoulder forward.
"Right now I am the head of house of Zieghart."
Raon shook his head while sheathing the Heavenly Drive with trembling hands.
"When carrying the family's name on my back, I can't lose to anyone."
Having grown up in Zieghart and learned how enormous the name Zieghart was, he absolutely couldn't bow even if his opponent was the Heavenly Demon. Breaking rather than bending was the attitude of the head of house he had observed.
"I like that part even more!"
Evelyn jumped up as if she couldn't stand it and rushed at Raon.
"Where do you think you're going!"
"Raon. Tired."
Martha and Runaan approached as if they knew this would happen and grabbed Evelyn's arms and legs.
"Let go! You interferers!"
Evelyn struggled, asking to hug him just once, but Martha and Runaan wouldn't let her go.
"Phew."
Raon gave Martha and Runaan a grateful eye greeting and turned around.
"Raon."
Burren approached right in front of him as if he had been waiting.
"Thank you for letting me see the Heavenly Demon's martial arts."
He placed his trembling hand on his chest, saying he had truly felt many things.
"I will remember the world you opened for me today for the rest of my life and strive to become a Swordsman no less than that."
Burren drew his sword and gave a sword salute to Raon as if he meant it. This was a greeting from Burren the human, not Burren the friend or Burren the subordinate.
"I'll look forward to it."
Instead of telling him to stop saying thank you, Raon further encouraged Burren's will by saying he would look forward to it.
-Those guys...
Wrath smacked his lips while looking at Burren, Martha, and Runaan.
-It seems like they'll change a lot again through today's events.
'They probably will.'
Raon nodded in agreement with Wrath's words and then turned his gaze back.
'But...'
He frowned while looking at the ground where the Silent Serpent Swordsman had been kneeling before disappearing without a trace.
'Where did that guy go?'
* * *
"It's unexpected."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman put his interlaced hands behind his head and curled up his lips.
"I thought you would crush Raon Zieghart's head."
He chuckled while looking at the man with a back as broad as the ocean.
"Raon Zieghart. He was a man qualified to wield a sword."
The Heavenly Demon. The man who showed what true martial arts were slowly turned his body and nodded.
"Not as Glenn Zieghart's grandson, but as Sword Emperor Raon Zieghart, he's a martial artist worth anticipating."
The Heavenly Demon curled up his lips as if he liked the martial artist called Raon.
"You really like him a lot."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman slowly stroked his chin.
"Well, there are no humans like that. Having a realm of the soul greater than his martial prowess, and he's neither an Angel nor a Demon." (E/N: He is a demonic angel)
He lowered his eyebrows as if the human called Raon himself was fascinating.
"However, there's still a part I don't understand."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman frowned while looking at the Heavenly Demon's broken and swaying Right Arm.
"Even if you're repaying the blood debt, you didn't need to go that far."
He shook his head back and forth, saying he couldn't understand no matter how much he thought about it.
"It's not an action done hoping for your understanding."
The Heavenly Demon closed his eyes and opened them as if it didn't matter how he appeared in other people's eyes.
"I merely walk the path I have set."
Even though he had injuries severe enough to make it difficult to properly handle his body, he walked into the darkness with peaceful steps as if it were nothing.
"Do martial artists understand each other?"
The Silent Serpent Swordsman slightly frowned while recalling the similar martial arts of Raon and the Heavenly Demon.
"I might never know for the rest of my life."
He lowered his interlaced hands, saying he should give up on understanding the Heavenly Demon.
"Why were you beside Raon Zieghart?"
The Heavenly Demon turned his face slightly to look at the Silent Serpent Swordsman as if curious about that part.
"Were you trying to extract information from Raon Zieghart?"
"As if."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman shrugged as if absolutely not.
"Because it looked interesting. Who in the world would kill the Sphinx, Eden's guardian Spirit Beast, and enter? And solving the riddle too!"
He grinned, saying his curiosity about the human called Raon Zieghart was too great.
"And you didn't even ask about the Death Sword Spirit."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman smacked his lips while looking at the back of the Heavenly Demon walking forward again.
"As long as Pride exists, she won't die."
The Heavenly Demon nodded calmly as if he knew what had happened in Eden even without seeing it.
"You're really cold-hearted."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman sighed deeply, saying the Heavenly Demon was no fun.
"You remember, don't you?"
The Heavenly Demon stopped walking. He slowly looked back at the Silent Serpent Swordsman and flashed red light from within his helmet.
"The freedom given to you is your last life."
He let out a chilling voice as if he was looking at the Silent Serpent Swordsman's future.
"It would be better to do what you need to do before becoming another existence."
The Heavenly Demon's words could be heard as advice, or could be seen as a threat.
"I'll keep that in mind. However..."
The Silent Serpent Swordsman raised his thumb and confidently pointed to himself.
"That won't happen."
He giggled, saying he would survive to the end and see the war's conclusion.
"Because I won't die."
* * *
Raon dragged his exhausted body, tired enough to want to collapse and sleep right away, back to Cameloon's castle wall where Eden's gate had opened.
"Oh, you're back!"
Dorian jumped up and ran to Raon.
"I-I was scared! I should have followed along!"
He grabbed Raon's sleeve and sniffled, saying all the Light Wind Palace Swordsmen had fainted and he had been anxious not knowing when enemies might appear.
"Really amazing."
Martha let out a hollow laugh and slumped to the ground.
"This guy doesn't change even after receiving a Demon King's Authority and approaching Transcendence."
She shook her head back and forth as if she should give up on Dorian now.
"Still, thanks to Dorian mustering courage, you got to see the Heavenly Demon's martial arts."
Burren slightly narrowed his eyes as if telling her not to say such things and to thank Dorian instead.
"Mm."
Runaan also looked at Martha with slightly parted lips as if she had the same thoughts as Burren.
"Th-that's right. I saw a sight that will never come again."
Martha sighed and approached Dorian.
"Thank you. Thanks to you, I had an experience that will never come again in the world. No, I might have stolen your experience. I'm sorry."
She simultaneously said thank you and sorry while bowing her head to Dorian.
"N-no!"
Dorian waved his hands vigorously.
"I would have fainted even if I went anyway!"
He swallowed dry saliva, saying that only Burren, Martha, and Runaan, who had strong mental fortitude, could have endured. No matter how strong he became, he seemed to not want to meet the Heavenly Demon.
"Dorian. Wake up the unconscious Swordsmen."
Raon called Dorian with strength in his cracked voice.
"It's true that this place could be dangerous, so returning as quickly as possible would..."
It was when he was about to say they should wake the Swordsmen and return to Zieghart.
"Raon Zieghart. No, Lord Raon Zieghart!"
The Bear Fire Demon suddenly ran over and knelt in front of Raon.
"Please help me!"
He said to help him and buried his head in the ground.
"No, please save my son!"
"What? What are you suddenly talking about?"
Raon frowned, unable to understand the Bear Fire Demon's behavior.
"I have no reason to help you. Whoever your son is..."
"The Silent Serpent Swordsman! That guy is my son. And if that guy dies..."
The Bear Fire Demon raised his head with his distorted pupils trembling.
"The world will be destroyed!"
