The Reincarnated Assassin Is a Genius Swordsman

Chapter 1483

Chapter 1483 "Huuuuu…." Derus Robert exhaled the breath that had filled deep in his lungs. "Haa…." He let out one more short breath in order to forcibly suppress the rage that seemed ready to burst. "Report the situation." Derus Robert turned his head and looked at Kubara standing behind him. He appeared to have regained his composure, but a deeper rage boiled in his black eyes. "Approximately 350 from the Angel side, 310 from the Eden side, 400 Revenants, and 450 undead have been struck down." Kubara had apparently kept detailed track of allied casualties even amid the chaos, immediately producing an answer to Derus Robert's question. "So roughly 1,500 dead." Derus Robert let out a hollow laugh as if it were absurd. "In addition to that, more than 400 were melted by the Demonic Dragon's breath." Kubara mentioned 400 more as if 1,500 was not the end, lowering and then opening her eyes. "Then it's nearly two thousand. Two thousand in that brief moment…." He shook his head repeatedly as if unable to believe it even though he had experienced it himself. "No, if you consider it was a strike team of Transcendents who commanded the Continent, perhaps we got off cheaply." Derus Robert smiled slightly as if saying it wasn't bad for an ambush led by Transcendents, the leaders of each faction, combined with the Light Wind Palace, the Continent's strongest military unit. However, his expression remained gravely set. "What are the casualties among the officers?" Derus Robert looked at Kubara with narrowed eyes as if that were more important. "Four from the Angel side, three from Eden, five Revenants, and five undead." Kubara had apparently been keeping an accurate count of the officers leading the troops, answering with precise numbers. "Among the high-ranking executives, only one of the Revenants was killed." She gave a brief nod, indicating that casualties among senior officers were not severe. "Seventeen. And one high-ranking executive among them..." Derus Robert let out another hollow laugh. "I don't know whether to call this fortunate or to be furious about it." He swept back the hair that had fallen over his forehead, saying it was hard to say definitively either way. "We were completely caught off guard." A man concealed from head to toe in a black robe approached Derus Robert's side. He wore a faint smile as if unaware of the gravity of the situation. "Have you assessed the situation?" Derus Robert furrowed his brow at the man in the black robe, telling him to explain what was happening. "Yes. I have assessed it." The man in the black robe nodded with a smile on his lips. "We are currently not in the original Continent, but have entered a different dimension." Having received just one ambush, he seemed to have figured out Raon's plan and immediately spoke about the false Continent. "Not the original Continent?" The Silent Serpent Swordsman walked over with a furrowed brow. "What kind of nonsense is that?" He glared at the man in the black robe as if demanding a clear explanation. [….] The grey-hued being emanated only a calm light, as if utterly indifferent to the deaths of the Angels or the current situation. "Go ahead and speak." Derus Robert calmly tilted his chin as if he had anticipated this to some degree. "It is exactly as I said." The man in the black robe curled his lips upward from within his hood. "We are trapped in a Barrier or dimension that the Five Kings' Magicians created to look exactly like the Continent." He smiled at ease even as he said they were trapped in a Barrier. "Do you think that makes sense?" The Silent Serpent Swordsman let out a heavy breath from inside his helmet. "Trapping all the absolute powers gathered here in a Barrier without anyone noticing is impossible even for a god!" He scrunched his face, telling him to say something that made sense. "I don't understand it either." A man concealed from head to toe in a blue robe walked out from among the remnants of the Five Demons. "The Demonic Dragon's breath descended — how could a mere Barrier withstand that?" He furrowed his brow, asking why the Barrier hadn't been broken through given the Demonic Dragon's Authority of Destruction that collapses all magical effects. "You are both correct." The man in the black robe nodded calmly even after being rebutted. "To answer the first question, the Five Kings' Magicians set an extraordinarily precise trap that no one could detect, and we stepped on that trap without noticing and were drawn into this world." He twirled his finger, saying that magic grows stronger when restrictions and conditions are applied. "The Five Kings' Magicians must have set the trap to trigger for exactly one person, thereby enhancing the magic's power. That person would naturally be you." The man in the black robe raised his finger and pointed at Derus Robert. "Because you stepped on the trap first, all of us were dragged into this world without even realizing it." He shrugged, saying it seemed that because of that restriction, everyone present had entered the Barrier without noticing. "Ha…." Derus Robert's jaw trembled faintly. 'Was that when it happened?' A small sense of dissonance that no one else had noticed, only he himself had felt. At the time he had thought it was due to mental fatigue caused by Raon Zieghart, but looking at it now, it seemed his instincts had been correct. "Now it finally makes sense." Derus Robert bit down hard on his lip. "Why that one came to find me alone." Raon Zieghart coming alone to the Robert territory was not simply to reduce their numbers and lower morale. It was clearly a scheme to provoke him into stepping on the trap that had been set in advance. 'Utterly absurd.' To use the schemes and tactics he himself had taught to surpass his own judgment — he had truly never even dreamed he would come to understand the meaning of "the student surpasses the master" through Raon. It was so absurd it actually made him laugh. "Then is the Barrier not breaking also because of that restriction?" A man from whom a sinister aura rose above his robe tilted his chin at the Magician in the black robe. "Of course that is part of it. The density of this space right now is not normal. However, no matter how solid it is, it should have been pierced long ago by the Demonic Dragon's breath." The Magician in the black robe pressed force into his fingertips, saying that no matter how solidly the Barrier was made, it could not withstand the Demonic Dragon's Authority of Destruction. "Then why…." "It must be because they rebuild it before the Barrier fully breaks." Derus Robert spoke in place of the Magician in the black robe. "Correct." The man in the black robe curled the corner of his mouth upward. "As expected, your judgment is on a different level." He let out an exclamation as if he hadn't expected even Derus to realize that. "They rebuild it?" "What does that…." The man in the blue robe and the Silent Serpent Swordsman furrowed their brows as if they didn't understand. "Hmm!" The man in the sinister robe let out a soft exclamation as if he now understood. "It would be faster to show you directly." The man in the black robe sliced through the air with fingertips filled with white mana. Zzizizizik! Following his fingertips, the air split apart in a long rainbow-colored crack, and a dimensional rift opened. Uuuuung! However, the rift disappeared several times faster than it had opened. "I opened a rift with a mana structure opposite to this space, but as you can see, it immediately reconstitutes and closes. Perhaps…." The man in the black robe looked up at the pitch-black sky and licked his lips. "Outside of this space, Archmages and many Magicians must be continuously prepared to reconstitute this space." He shook his head, saying that because the Magicians were continuously maintaining the space, even the power of the Demonic Dragon of Destruction could not break through the Barrier. "Can't we just keep breaking it? Or analyze the Barrier like you just did." The Silent Serpent Swordsman furrowed his brow as if frustrated. "The Five Kings' side would have prepared more extensively, so a war of attrition won't be easy either. No, whether it's a war of attrition or analyzing the Barrier, it will be difficult. The reason being…." The Magician in the black robe turned to look behind him and narrowed his eyes. "Because they won't allow us the leisure to do so." Derus Robert picked up from the Magician's words and slowly turned around. He bared his white teeth as he saw the Five Kings' Transcendents bursting out from a space without a single ray of light. "You all stay out of this." Derus Robert waved his hand at those behind him as he watched Raon rushing toward him like a red flash. "Because this is not your stage." He said they must not reveal everything here, and drew his death-burning sword. "Derus Robert." Raon murmured Derus Robert's name and kicked off from the air. "I've come back to show you hell." He brought down the Heavenly Drive blazing with his martial technique like a thunderbolt, as if to end it in a single blow. "So you want to test endurance." Derus Robert thrust out his death-exploding sword, not to block Raon's strike but to push it back in reverse. Jeoooooong! The two swords imbued with martial technique and death clashed, and an aura that seemed to pierce through the darkness soared to the very edge of the sky. "Fine. I'll take everything you've got." Derus Robert lifted his chin as he pushed back the surging flames of the martial technique with his death aura. "I have waited a thousand years in silence — you are not even a speck of dust in that time!" He let out a cold laugh, saying he would instead make Raon be consumed by this space. "A test of endurance? Do that kind of thing by yourself." Raon looked down at Derus Robert and let out a sneer. "What begins now is a one-sided slaughter." Before his words had even finished, screams and blood ran rampant throughout Derus Robert's forces. Kugugugugugu! The Transcendents' strike teams that had descended alongside Raon unleashed terrifying Martial Prowess, sweeping through Eden, Angels, Revenants, and the undead. "I'll give you a death sentence." Raon suppressed Derus Robert's death-surging sword with sheer Martial Prowess. "The hell you have fallen into is one where endless pain and terror are given to those who have sinned…." He lifted his chin with fierce eyes, as if he had become the King of Hell who judges sinners. "For it is the Infinite Hell."
