The Reincarnated Assassin Is a Genius Swordsman

Chapter 1511

Chapter 1511 "Uwaaaaaaa!" "T-the Head of House is overwhelming the Demonic Dragon of Destruction and Archangel Michael!" "I can't believe it even seeing it with my own eyes." "H-how is that even possible?" "It's our Head of House! Of course it's possible!" "So that's the full power of the martial artist they call the Sword Sage…." "He's a monster. Even more of a monster than the archangel and the dragon…." The martial artists of the Continental Alliance burst into gasps and cheers, astonished by Raon's martial prowess as he overwhelmed and drove back the Demonic Dragon of Destruction and Archangel Michael. "Uooooooo!" "Alliance Leader! Finish it now!" "Head of House! Please! Cut off the Dragon's head!" "It's almost over now… huh?" "W-wait, that's—!" "Head of House!" "Alliance Leader!" The people who had been cheering for Raon, hoping for the war's end, screamed as they saw crimson blood suddenly gush from his waist. "Heh heh." Amid the screams filling the battlefield, a chilling laugh rang out. "Didn't I clearly teach you?" It was Derus Robert. He nodded, a twisted smile splitting his mouth as if it might tear. "Not to trust anyone, or any situation. You were caught off guard because you believed you knew me well." Derus Robert swayed the Sword of Beloved Death from side to side as if mocking Raon, saying he'd been stabbed because he'd forgotten that very advice. "I'll admit it." Raon let out a hollow laugh as he looked down at Derus Robert, who wore a sneer. "I didn't expect you to have been hiding something like that until now." He had of course expected that Derus Robert might heal his wounds and stab at his opening. Whether by launching a Soul Sword, moving in himself, or even just sending out death aura, Raon had kept his aura perception open so he could react. 'But I never even considered Sword Control.' Derus Robert had pretended to focus on healing his wounds with death aura on the ground, while secretly launching the Sword of Beloved Death from behind using Sword Control. Because he had infused the sword with natural mana instead of death aura, Raon had had no way of sensing it approach and could only be cut. "Impressive." His scheming really is on another level. Derus Robert was an absolute martial artist who had reached the realm of the Soul Sword. Raon honestly hadn't imagined that, at this point, he would learn Sword Control—a stage considered beneath the Soul Sword—just to target him. What came out was admiration rather than dismay. -Y-you crazy bastard…. Wrath's chin trembled as though at a loss for words. -What good does it do to acknowledge the enemy right now! It scowled, irritated that Raon was giving Derus Robert credit. 'What deserves credit deserves credit. That's the only way to assess the situation calmly.' Raon twisted his mouth as he cauterized the wound where his flesh had torn away, using a blade blazing with his Single Flame technique. -Kkeueoeok! Wrath screamed, covering its eyes as if its own flesh shuddered just from the sight. -C-cauterizing your own flesh without your expression changing at all! Don't you even feel pain, you bastard! It said this must hurt more than being stabbed, its chin trembling. -And you didn't even need to cauterize it—you could've just stopped the bleeding and regenerated it! 'It's a wound I got because I underestimated my opponent.' Raon nodded calmly, as if he intended to treat this pain as a lesson. 'And even though I was wounded, it's not serious.' If he'd been struck by death aura, the wound might have been severe enough to hinder his movement, but Derus Robert had infused the Sword of Beloved Death with only natural mana in order to evade his senses. Saying there was no problem at all would of course be a lie, but he was relieved it wasn't the worst-case scenario. Hwooooong! Derus Robert climbed slowly into the sky as though stepping up a staircase of empty air, coming to stand before Raon. He settled the death aura that had wrapped his entire body like armor. "That was tremendous martial prowess." Derus Robert raised both hands and applauded Raon. Having apparently finished healing completely, the wounds that had once torn his body in half had vanished entirely. "Now I understand why you went into this war with such confidence." Derus Robert narrowed his eyes and swept his gaze over Raon's entire body. "Honestly, I didn't expect you to possess that much power." He nodded, saying Raon's martial prowess had drawn genuine admiration from him. "If you had defeated me with that strength and held off both the Dragon and Michael as well, you would have become a hero remembered in history for over a thousand years—like Zieghart's First Patriarch." Derus Robert bit his lip slightly and closed his eyes, then opened them again, as though picturing a future in which Raon had won. "But that future no longer exists now. The moment you failed to kill me, the outcome of this war was decided." He curled his mouth upward, saying that in the end Raon had neither killed him nor defeated the Demonic Dragon of Destruction or Archangel Michael. "You understand, don't you?" Derus Robert stood between the Demonic Dragon of Destruction and Archangel Michael and raised the Sword of Beloved Death. "I have no reason to beat you fair and square. I'll use everything at my disposal to grant you despair." He tilted his chin, saying that rather than defeating Raon one-on-one as before, he would join forces with Michael and the Dragon. -What…? Wrath blinked, dumbfounded. -T-that trash of a bastard! It shrieked, saying it hadn't known Derus Robert was this much of a piece of trash. "I know." Raon caught his breath as he looked at Derus Robert, who wore a sneer. "Because you're not a martial artist—you're the Dragon's lackey." He smiled calmly, as though he had expected from the start that Derus Robert would resort to a filthy joint attack. "Mock me all you like. It won't change the outcome anyway." Derus Robert waved his hand, wearing a smile, as though he'd regained his composure. "But since the end is coming now, let me correct one thing you're mistaken about." He raised a finger and pointed at himself, then at the Demonic Dragon of Destruction, in turn. "It's been a good while since our master-servant relationship reversed." Derus Robert let death aura rise over his eyes, as though revealing an important truth. "What…? Ugh!" Just as Raon's brow furrowed, the Sword of Beloved Death, condensed with death aura, shot out before his eyes. Derus Robert had thrust the sword in without giving him any time to think. "…." Archangel Michael did not move, seeming conflicted, but the Demonic Dragon of Destruction, following Derus Robert's lead as if to kill Raon, wrapped him in flames of destruction that had grown even fiercer. Jeoeoeoeong! Raon knocked aside Derus Robert's sword with the Heavenly Drive and split the Dragon's flames apart with the Wooden Ring Sword. Every movement brought vicious pain to his waist, but he gritted his teeth, endured it, and even struck back with a counterattack. Chwaaaaaak! With a surprise thrust of the Heavenly Drive, Raon split the Demonic Dragon of Destruction's wing, and with the Wooden Ring Sword he fired the Flame Dragon Strike toward Derus Robert's chest. Jijijijik! A quarter of the Dragon's wing, massive enough to blot out the sky, was severed, and though Derus Robert blocked the Wooden Ring Sword, he was overpowered and sent flying backward. "Ha! What insane strength." Derus Robert let out a short laugh, as though dumbfounded by the power contained in Raon's sword strike. "So there was a reason I couldn't win even with Michael and the Dragon attacking together." He smacked his lips, as if finding Raon's martial prowess intriguing. "Michael." Derus Robert called out to Archangel Michael as he approached Raon again. "I believe I told you to keep your promise?" He tilted his chin at the still Michael, as if telling her to raise her sword again. "Haa…." Archangel Michael looked at Derus Robert, then let out a heavy sigh. "I'll keep my promise. But I'll only stay with you until that human is dead." She lowered her chin, as if to say she would remain at Derus Robert's side only until Raon was killed. "Hmm." Derus Robert looked at Michael and tilted his chin to the side. "A bit of a shame, but let's do it that way." He smiled, as though it would be fine, and switched back to speaking formally. Gooooooo! Archangel Michael closed her eyes, then opened them again, letting grey energy bloom over her blade once more. She aimed her sword—thick with killing intent—at Raon, as if intending to end things quickly. Kugugugugugugu! As the Demonic Dragon of Destruction extended its hand, the sky stained a deep crimson-black, and everything around them turned into flames of destruction, forming a space like an inferno of hell. It let out an enraged breath, as though intending to burn Raon to death right there. "This is where you end." Derus Robert gathered the writhing death aura and formed seven blades above the Sword of Beloved Death. He unleashed a magnificent burst of energy unlike anything before, as though determined to finish Raon off here for certain. "My end isn't yours to decide." Raon gripped the Heavenly Drive and the Wooden Ring Sword in reverse-hand grips, then released them into the air. "I'll decide my own end." As he operated the Ring of Fire to its extreme with a smile, a bright red flame and a silver Cold Energy, different from the Ten Thousand Flames Cultivation, surged up on the Heavenly Drive and the Wooden Ring Sword. Gooooooooo! The cold and the flame slowly revolved along the Ring of Fire, once again painting a sun and moon across the pitch-black sky. Sword Domain. Divine-Demonic Harmony. Raon summoned back the Sword Domain he had already exhausted, and gripped the Divine Sword and Demonic Sword, newly forged from sunlight and moonlight. "Sword Domain?" Derus Robert's eyes went wide at the sight. "How can you use the Sword Domain again after already using it once?" He furrowed his brow, as if to ask how it was possible when the Sword Domain's energy should have already burned out. "I regenerated it." Raon tilted his chin calmly, as though it were nothing much. "The Sword Domain is a power of the soul. I abandoned healing my physical wounds and focused everything on recovering the Sword Domain's energy." Rather than regenerating the wounds he'd taken in the fight with Derus Robert, he had gathered every ounce of strength into restoring the Sword Domain's energy—the Ring of Fire, the regenerative power of his heavenly martial body, the recovery ability of the demon kings' authorities, and even the power of his titles. Thanks to expending it all, he'd gathered enough energy to use the Sword Domain again, even if not at full strength. But since the Sword Domain was a power of the soul, if his realm of the soul had been even slightly lower, using it again immediately would have been impossible. He had one more thing to be grateful to Wrath for. -Y-you bastard…. Wrath's chin trembled, dumbfounded. -So the reason you cauterized it instead of regenerating the wound was…. 'That's right.' Raon nodded with a faint smile. 'Because even that regenerative power was too precious to waste.' He had of course expected Derus Robert to launch a joint attack. By diverting even the regenerative power that would have gone into healing his wound toward restoring the Sword Domain, he had barely managed to make it in time. 'But….' Raon clenched his molars and raised the Divine Sword and the Demonic Sword. 'This isn't a fight I can sustain for long.' Withstanding the combined might of Archangel Michael and the Demonic Dragon of Destruction alone would be impossible even for a War God. With Derus Robert joining the fight as well, no matter how great the traits of his heavenly martial body, he would soon reach his limit. 'So I'll end it before that happens.' Determined to kill Derus Robert before the Divine-Demonic Harmony ran out, he unleashed every last bit of energy he possessed. "The Sword Domain really is something. I suppose I'll have to make use of that blood too." Derus Robert smacked his lips lingeringly and charged forward. He unfurled death aura as if to erase the sun itself and brought the Sword of Beloved Death down. "Let's finish this quickly." Archangel Michael clicked her tongue briefly and thrust out a grey sword strike in time with Derus Robert's movement. Paaaaaang! Raon felt the terrifying sword strikes of Derus Robert and Archangel Michael with his very soul, his eyes flashing with cold, clear light. The Divine Sword and Demonic Sword shot forward along with that sharp gaze. Two lines of Crimson Slash crossed and extended out, as if to cut the sky diagonally in two. Jeoeoeoeoeong! Rather than merely blocking Derus Robert and Archangel Michael's slashes with the Crimson Slash, Raon knocked them aside as if overpowering them by sheer force. It was astonishing martial prowess. At the cross-shaped slash of the two blades advancing without a hair's breadth of error, even his enemies couldn't hide their shock, their eyes trembling. Derus Robert and Archangel Michael were knocked back by the force of the Divine Sword and Demonic Sword, and an opening for a counterattack appeared, but Raon couldn't seize it. Kugugugugugugu! It was because the Demonic Dragon of Destruction, which had been waiting behind the two swordsmen, fired off countless flames from within a space it had created with its Authority of Destruction. "Haaa…." As Raon steadied his breath and raised his hand, the red energy of his Single Flame technique transformed into a brilliant blue light, wrapping around the thousands of flames falling toward him. Demon king of Wrath's Decisive Technique, Silver Aurora. The light spreading from Raon's fingertips turned even the Dragon's flames—said to bring about destruction—into mere shards of ice, sending them plummeting to the ground. Derus Robert and Archangel Michael didn't miss the opening while Raon was blocking the flames of destruction, and turned their swords to charge at him again. Jeojeojeojeojeong! As though possessed by the War God, Raon knocked aside Derus Robert and Michael's terrifying slashes with the Divine Sword and Demonic Sword, even cutting down the Dragon's flames that poured in between. Even as Derus Robert and Michael's swords grew stronger, unable to bear their frustration, and the Demonic Dragon of Destruction's flames grew fiercer, Raon's sword never once faltered, advancing along its own path. The term 'demonic and divine' refers to things that cannot appear in the human world or are impossible by common sense. A peerless martial prowess that withstood the full strength of the Demonic Dragon of Destruction, Derus Robert, and Archangel Michael all at once. The only term that could describe Raon's current state was "feats beyond mortal ken."
