The Reincarnated Assassin Is a Genius Swordsman
Chapter 1491
Chapter 1491
"Heading toward Raon!"
Beast King Ogram thrust a fist exploding with Aura toward the undead.
"Open the way!"
The undead standing before his fist strike were shattered into dust, not even a bone fragment left behind.
"Open the way!"
"Uooooooo!"
Garona repeated Ogram's words and opened the hand that had torn off the drake's neck. The martial artists of the Beast Union, burning with a fighting spirit no less than their leader Ogram, instantly crushed the wall of the undead blocking their path.
"Let's go too."
Habun Castle's commander Milland curled his lips and drew the sword at his waist.
"Habun Castle, charge!"
He gripped the reins tightly and charged toward the undead at the very front.
"Follow the commander!"
As Habun Castle's vice-commander Terian echoed Milland's words and raised his spear, the cavalry forming ranks beside him began to move.
Kukugugugugu!
Amid the reverberation of hooves pounding the earth, the cavalry's spears stood tall like castle walls. The cavalry's heavy spearheads pierced through the wall of undead in an instant, announcing the arrival of a north wind colder than death.
"Begin."
At Mage Tower Master Larian's gesture, a Magic Circle even denser than the Vast Heaven Sword's constellation etched into the sky of the Holy Sword Alliance was drawn beside it.
"Starfall."
Along with the murmur of Larian's disciple, Ironclad Yuria, the hands of the Mage Tower's Magicians turned toward the sky.
Wuuuuuung!
The Magic Circles glowing in the Magicians' hands connected with the same light as the one drawn in the sky, and brilliant starlight fell over the skies of the Holy Sword Alliance.
Kuwaaaaaang!
The starlight pouring down like a rain shower from the Magic Circles struck only the undead blocking Zieghart and the Holy Sword Alliance, without the slightest error. As if the magic held some special power, the undead struck by the light turned to blue ash and vanished.
"You all reek, so get lost!"
Saintess Olga stomped her foot and struck down with a fist blazing with Divine power.
Peooooong!
Following her strike path, a sacred energy fell from the sky, crushing and bursting the undead.
"Curious. How is it that the less one believes in god, the stronger their holy power becomes?"
Holy King Hoppen shook his head as if at a loss for words, cutting through the undead's necks with a sword ablaze with Divine power. Following the two of them, the Holy Knights and Priests of the Holy Kingdom of Suphren unleashed a magnificent holy power.
Wuuuuuuung!
The pinnacle of holy magic, Sanctuary. A massive sacred domain was constructed from the material of holy power, and the undead caught within it melted away like candle wax.
"Lord Raon! We've come as well!"
Owen Kingdom's King Greer charged toward the undead, holding aloft a sword that shone magnificently.
"Follow the king!"
A familiar voice rang out from behind him. The former king, the Transcendent Lecross who bore the nickname Silent Sword Master, gripped his sword in his gaunt hand and supported Greer from the very front.
"For the continent!"
At Lecross's cry, the Knights of Owen charged toward the undead with tears welling in their eyes. Sensing that the former king Lecross was prepared to die for the present king, they swung their swords with all their souls.
"Master. I've brought everyone."
Balkar's Princess Jayna bowed to Archmage Chamber of Eternal Flame, accompanied by the court magicians who guarded the kingdom.
"Begin."
As Jayna nodded, the court magicians standing at the pinnacle of Balkar began their incantations, and by the time their spells ended, the undead had melted in lava, been trapped in ice, and been buried in the earth.
"Haah!"
A Dimensional Gate larger than any of the other forces' opened, and from within it walked a beauty with skin as white as if combed from moonlight — the Thespian Emperor.
"Honestly, this isn't why I gathered these people."
The Thespian Emperor glanced back at the Martial Artists and Magicians standing behind her and let out a short sigh. The people she had summoned were far from weak in Martial Prowess, and their numbers looked to be three times that of any other force.
"Conquering the continent is fine and all, but stopping the ones doing the conquering is fun too."
Queen of Swords Brigitte twisted her lips into a smirk and leapt toward the undead, while the Swordsmen of the Sword Pavilion following her radiated a menacing pressure as they cut down the undead.
"Of course, it's not bad."
The Thespian Emperor, wearing a sultry smile, extended her fingertips blazing with immense energy toward the undead, and the undead standing before her burst apart like firecrackers.
Peooooong!
Above the heads of the undead melting into a black wave, a massive pirate ship with a fluttering blue flag descended.
"I brought my kids along too!"
As Pirate King Alice waved her hand toward Raon, a massive cannonball flew from the bow of the pirate ship Azure Wind, crushing the wall of undead before them in a single blow. (E/N: ????????????????????????)
"Let's go! It's time to plunder the dead!"
Lawaine, who had been forced to play the fake Pirate King because of Alice, tore off his eyepatch and unleashed sword strikes more intense than cannon fire upon the undead. The pirates aboard the Azure Wind also let out roars as they drove the undead back.
Kugugugugugugu!
As the continent's mighty figures, bound to Raon by fate, descended all at once, the wall of undead — so thick its end could not be seen — collapsed instantly. At the spectacular sight of a soft blue light seeming to crumble the ink-black tidal wave of undead, the Swordsmen of Zieghart and the Holy Sword Alliance let out gasps of admiration.
"Uooooooo!"
"Reinforcements have arrived!"
"The Five Kings Alliance. No, the Continental Alliance!"
"Now we just need to focus on the enemy in front of us!"
"Let's fight too!"
The Swordsmen of Zieghart and the Holy Sword Alliance, emboldened by the appearance of reinforcements, rose with even fiercer fighting spirit than when they had cut through the Demonic Dragon's breath, pushing back the enemies before them.
"The sight of humans united is rather moving."
The Fallen, having already been dead, nodded with a faint smile, as if not even feeling a sense of crisis.
"Pirates? Back when I was alive, those wretches couldn't even set foot in the water."
The South-North Union Leader twisted his face into a chilling scowl, as if displeased with Alice and her pirate ship.
"Haaah, Raon Zieghart… Raon Zieghart!"
The Black Tower Master, seemingly unable to bear his malice and killing intent toward Raon any longer, unleashed demonic energy and lunged at Raon.
Jjijijijik!
But before the Black Tower Master could reach Raon, he was blocked by a warped space and could not move.
"Where do you think you're aiming, going after my kid!"
Archmage Chamber of Eternal Flame snorted and twirled her finger, and the Black Tower Master, who had been charging at Raon, was sent back to his original position.
"You're going to play with me."
Chamber flicked her finger with ease, as if she could now ignore even her compatibility disadvantage against the Black Tower Master.
"Kheuuu, Chamber…."
The Black Tower Master, seeming to remember Chamber as well, ground his blackened teeth and flashed his crimson eyes.
"What was it you said again?"
Raon stroked his chin, paying no mind to the Black Tower Master at all.
"You said your numbers and your Martial Prowess were superior, didn't you?"
He looked at Derus Robert, twisting his lips into a smirk.
"So? Do you still think that now?"
Raon shrugged at Derus Robert, as if asking how he felt about it now.
"…."
Derus Robert said nothing, silently watching as the undead and Revenants he had created melted away at the hands of the Continental Alliance.
"The Continental Alliance, is it."
He murmured the words the reinforcements had spoken moments ago and let out a short laugh.
"Is there a reason you use the name Continental Alliance instead of the Five Kings Alliance?"
Derus Robert looked at Raon with quiet, settled eyes.
"Because this isn't a war that belongs to us alone."
Raon nodded, saying there was no longer any need to use the name Five Kings Alliance.
"So that's the side you stand on, after all."
Derus Robert nodded calmly, as if he now understood more clearly.
"Sharing a table with lowly vermin — you're not fit to become the master of this world."
He curled his lip, saying Raon lacked the qualifications to become king.
"A king, by nature, is one who stands at the very highest place and looks down upon all! A noble being who cannot even tolerate breathing the same air as lowly things!"
Derus Robert let out a sneering laugh as he recited his own concept of what a king should be.
-Nonsense!
Wrath shouted in Raon's place.
-A king is not one who stands above, but one who stands in front and walks together with his people!
He ground his teeth at Derus Robert, voicing the image of a king he himself envisioned.
"My friend…."
Raon glanced at Wrath and smiled.
"He says a king is not one who stands above, but one who stands in front and walks together with his people."
He raised his head, repeating Wrath's words exactly as they were.
"I think the same. A king is one who bears the weight of responsibility, not a being who rules over everything alone."
No sooner had Raon finished speaking than a vivid sun and moon rose over the sky of the Holy Sword Alliance. The sun and moon created by Divine-Demonic Harmony shone with a light more brilliant than the real sun and moon, illuminating the constellation of the Vast Heaven Sword.
[Grrrrrrr!]
Even the Demonic Dragon of Destruction spread its wings and drew back before the magnificent light of that sun and moon.
"Today, as the king responsible for Zieghart and the Holy Sword Alliance, I will kill you."
Raon aimed the Divine Sword and Demonic Sword, forged from the sun and moon, at Derus Robert's neck.
"Heh heh."
Derus Robert shook his head, welcoming with laughter Raon's killing intent that had reached the absolute peak.
"I knew it."
He raised his calm eyes, as if they had settled deep within mud.
"Of course I expected the vermin who follow you would come. After being dealt with so thoroughly by that special task force, how could I not know!"
Derus Robert nodded slowly, saying he had expected reinforcements from the Continental Alliance to come.
"Though it seems I won't even need to bring out the trick I specially prepared for them."
He raised his hand and pointed at the Demonic Dragon of Destruction standing in the sky above the Holy Sword Alliance.
"Because I still have the Demonic Dragon of Destruction left."
Derus Robert laughed, his eyes flashing the same dark crimson light as the Demonic Dragon of Destruction.
"How do you intend to stop that king of destruction? Even if the Demonic Dragon doesn't use its breath, it remains a disaster for all of you regardless."
Derus Robert twisted his lips into a smirk, saying that the Continental Alliance would be swept away regardless, even without the Demonic Dragon of Destruction using its breath, simply by moving that colossal body.
"You might be able to hold it back to some degree. But the moment you step away, I will kill every last one of the Alliance's people."
He raised a sword ablaze with death, declaring that the instant Raon moved to stop the Demonic Dragon, he would massacre everyone else.
"If the Demonic Dragon moves, won't your own subordinates die too?"
Raon narrowed his eyes and looked at Derus Robert.
"As I said a moment ago, those vermin were born to raise me to the heavens. They'll surely consider it an honor to die for their king."
Derus Robert tilted his chin up, repeating the philosophy of kingship he himself had spoken.
"Besides, even if they die, I can simply bring them back to life."
He laughed lightly, as if to say it would be fine so long as his subordinates were revived as undead.
"…."
Raon watched Derus Robert's laughter, then lowered the Divine Sword and Demonic Sword.
"Right. There's no answer for it! That's why you showed there's a swordsmanship that cuts through the breath of destruction — but the Demonic Dragon's use isn't limited to that alone!"
As Derus Robert lowered his death-laden sword, the Demonic Dragon of Destruction descended to the ground with an enraged roar. As a being more massive than dozens of falling meteors came down, the very shockwave crushed the air and split the earth apart.
"The festival of blood begins."
It was the moment Derus Robert raised both arms, anticipating that blood would burst like firecrackers from the humans crushed beneath the Demonic Dragon of Destruction.
"Come."
"Please come!"
Raon's voice resonated together with a graceful voice that came from the forest on the opposite side. From within the forest, where a clear, verdant wind blew, walked a peerless woman for whom even the title of goddess would fall short. Siyana, the present Guardian of Sepia. She raised her voice toward Raon, a smile on her lips.
"Fire Spirit King Ifrit!"
"Water Spirit King Elayim!"
Following the two of their calls, beneath the wings of the Demonic Dragon of Destruction descending toward the ground, a deep red seed of crimson flame and a droplet of water so blue it seemed transparent rose into the air.
Hwaaaaaaak!
The crimson flame and water droplet, once smaller than a marble, blazed up in an instant, spreading into flames and waves powerful enough to rival the Demonic Dragon.
Kuwaaaaaang!
Before long, the crimson flame and water, now taking the form of giant deities, seized the wings of the Demonic Dragon of Destruction and pushed it back into the sky.
Kugugugugugu!
Fire Spirit King Ifrit and Water Spirit King Elayim. The two kings who ruled over the spirits of every dimension descended upon the Holy Sword Alliance and stood face to face with the Demonic Dragon of Destruction.
